The science
In this video for c-LEcta, we explain how viral vectors are produced for gene therapies and vaccines, including those for COVID-19. During production, host cells release not only viral vectors but also sticky, viscous DNA that must be removed for proper purification. c-LEcta’s Denarase enzyme efficiently eliminates host cell DNA under the same reaction conditions as standard DNA removal enzymes. Available as a GMP-grade product, Denarase ensures high-purity viral vectors for therapeutic applications. Additionally, the Denarase ELISA kit detects and quantifies residual enzyme levels with 50 times greater sensitivity and twice the speed of competitor kits, providing a reliable tool for quality control in vaccine and gene therapy manufacturing.
