Drug MoA – Mode of Action Video for IHL-42X

Understanding how a drug works can get complicated. In the case of IHL-42X, things are especially interesting because the treatment combines two active ingredients, each affecting the body in different ways.

  • Acetazolamide helps the body breathe better. It does this by making the blood a little more acidic, which signals the brain to take deeper breaths.
  • Additionally, dronabinol—a man-made form of THC—may help keep the airway open during sleep. It relaxes the throat muscles by working through the body’s endocannabinoid system.

Together, these two drugs form a smart combination. To explain how they work as a team, we needed a video that was clear, visual, and engaging. That’s why a Drug MoA animation was the perfect choice.

Drug MoA Animation – Behind the Scenes

We worked closely with Dr. Mark Bleackley, Chief Scientific Officer at Incannex, to bring this science to life. The goal was simple: create a drug MoA 3D animation that explains how the two drugs work together, and why this matters for both investors and patients.

Here’s how we made it happen:

  • First, we wrote a script from scratch—focused on being clear, short, and scientifically sound.
  • Next, we built a design board. It showed every step of the mechanism, from blocked airways to how the drugs help.
  • Finally, we animated everything in 3D. Key scenes included:
    • What happens during sleep apnea
    • How acetazolamide works
    • How dronabinol works
    • How the two drugs work together
    • Early results from studies

After the launch, Incannex shared the video on their website and LinkedIn. They liked it so much that they asked us to create a second animation for another drug.

Dr. Bleackley said:

“We decided to make a video so we had a tool to explain the rationale behind our drug product to interested parties across both the investment and scientific communities. It also serves as a great tool for explaining our drug product to clinical trial participants.”

About Incannex

Incannex makes new medicines by combining cannabinoids or psychedelics. These treatments are designed to help people living with serious, long-term health conditions.

Their pipeline includes:

  • IHL-42X for obstructive sleep apnea
  • IHL-675A for rheumatoid arthritis
  • PSX-001 for generalized anxiety disorder

By focusing on the root causes of disease, Incannex aims to develop treatments where others fall short. Their approach combines strong science with new ideas to bring better options to patients.
