Behind the Scenes of a Drug Animation for MEMO Therapeutics
Why MEMO Therapeutics Needed a Drug Animation
Antibodies are our body’s natural defense mechanism. Most therapeutic antibodies on the market are derived from animals. MEMO Therapeutics is changing that by sourcing antibodies directly from humans with strong immune responses.
However, isolating human antibodies is a fragile process. B-cells often die during extraction, especially from sick donors. This makes traditional methods slow and inefficient.
MEMO’s technology solves this by preserving and digitizing human B-cells. Using microfluidics, they encapsulate each B-cell in a droplet, extract DNA, and create a searchable antibody library. This speeds up antibody discovery and opens the door to next-generation therapies.
A drug animation was the best way to explain this complex process quickly and clearly.
How the Drug Animation Came to Life: Our Creative Process
Creating this video was about making the science easy to understand. Here’s how we tackled it.
Clarifying the Core Message
MEMO’s internal slides were accurate, but too technical for a broader audience. We worked with their team to strip the message down to the essentials. After several drafts, we found a clear narrative that kept the science intact while making it accessible.
Pacing the Voiceover for Better Comprehension
The first draft of the voiceover felt rushed. Viewers didn’t have time to absorb the visuals. We rewrote and re-recorded the narration at a slower pace, giving each visual concept time to land.
Visualizing Microfluidics Without Confusion
Dropzylla® uses droplet-based microfluidics to isolate antibodies—a process that’s hard to show visually. We collaborated with MEMO’s scientists to design accurate yet intuitive visuals that explained the process without overwhelming viewers.
Aligning Multiple Stakeholders
Different team members had different priorities. Some wanted more science, others more storytelling. Through structured feedback rounds, we helped the team align on the most impactful narrative: how Dropzylla® isolates, analyzes, and develops human antibodies—faster and more precisely than before.
The Impact of the Drug Animation
The final drug animation now lives on MEMO Therapeutics’ homepage, pitch decks, and investor presentations. It grabs attention, builds trust, and sparks conversations. Instead of walking audiences through complex slides, MEMO can now show their value in under two minutes.
