Why We Made a 2D Animation for PANS/PANDAS

When our daughter was diagnosed with PANS, everything changed overnight. One day she was fine. The next, she struggled with tics, anxiety, and food refusal and other symptoms that were even worse. Like many parents, we were confused, scared, and overwhelmed.

That’s when we reached out to Octpharma to help with their clinical trial – to support patient recruitment for a clinical trial that could change lives.

2D Animation for PANS/PANDAS Helps Explain a Complex Condition

PANS (Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome) involves a sudden onset of severe neuropsychiatric symptoms in children. These may include:

  • Tics
  • Obsessive thoughts or rituals
  • Emotional outbursts
  • Eating restrictions

When strep triggers these symptoms, the diagnosis is called PANDAS.

Doctors believe PANS results from immune system dysfunction. Infections, inflammation, or metabolic shifts may cause it. Yet many families never hear of PANS until it affects their child.

For this reason, our 2D animation for PANS/PANDAS focuses on clarity. It shows how the condition begins, what drives the symptoms, and how immune modulation may help.

2D Animation for PANS/PANDAS Supports Clinical Trial Recruitment

We also wanted to help families understand an important clinical trial.

Octapharma is running a Phase 3 trial to study IVIG (intravenous immunoglobulin) in children with PANS. IVIG is already used to treat immune disorders. In PANS, it may help calm the immune system and ease symptoms.

What’s more, the trial is well-designed. Children ages 6–17 receive either IVIG or placebo first. After three rounds, they switch. The setup allows researchers to compare effects while limiting risk.

Our 2D animation for PANS/PANDAS explains all this visually, and without jargon. Families can quickly grasp what’s involved and decide whether to join.

You can check the eligibility criteria on the official trial page.

This 2D Animation for PANS/PANDAS Comes From Personal Experience

We made this animation because we’re living it.

Our daughter receives IVIG treatments in Poland, but only privately. There is no public coverage. We pay out of pocket and hope one day this therapy will be officially approved for PANS.

That hope is why this 2D animation for PANS/PANDAS means so much to us.

Help Us Share the 2D Animation for PANS/PANDAS

If you know a family affected by PANS or PANDAS, please share this animation.

  • It could help them understand their child’s symptoms.
  • It might point them toward a clinical trial.
  • It may even offer a sense of hope.

Every view, every share, every conversation helps. And for families like ours, that makes all the difference.

We believe clear communication can change lives. That’s why we made this 2D animation for PANS/PANDAS. Please help us share it with the world.
